My Students
Have you ever felt like your life was unorganized? Did you ever feel like you could get more accomplished if you knew where your belongings were? That is the feeling that our students are facing within their school environment.
Our students are a low income, high poverty school in Central Illinois.
There are currently 60 students in fifth grade split between two classrooms. Although organization is not part of our curriculum, we fully believe that in order for our students to be successful, organization is a must!
My Project
When our students become organized, they will be able to focus on their academic subjects rather than the organizational component. Currently our students are struggling to find the materials that they need. They are losing out on quality instructional time but trying to locate what they need in order to be successful.
5th grade is their last grade of elementary school.
While we are teaching the core curriculum, we are also trying to instill the organizational component prior to becoming middle school students. We believe that this project can have long term success for many students over time.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
