My students need an iPad Mini and accessories to use during small group instruction in order to access the reading curriculum that will help them learn English and begin building skills.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Help struggling readers learn and love to READ! My students are ALL learning English and many parents do not speak the language and cannot read or help them with homework. This language barrier places my students at a significant disadvantage very early in their education.
My students are in 1st grade and new to this country.
They are struggling to learn English as many come from homes where English is not spoken. Most are also having a difficult time transitioning to a new country, new culture, new home, new school, and more so, a new language!
My Project
The online reading curriculum accessed on the iPad Mini will provide my students with individualized and interactive learning that will help them acquire the English language as well as a love of reading. By using the iPad Mini as a listening center, 1st graders will have access to online books in English as these are read to them to model correct speech.
"Mini iPads for Mini Hands" will help give my 1st graders access to the reading curriculum they need in order to build early reading skills.
Your donation to this project will directly impact my students' learning of the English language and help them be life-long readers and learners!
