This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Do you remember being a first grader not knowing anything about computers or technology equipment? Sadly, my students have limited access to the latest technical devices.
I teach a wonderful group of 22, first graders, who love coming to school each morning.
They are so eager to get their hands on any and everything offered to them on a regular basis. They live in a high poverty neighborhood and most of them qualify and receive free lunch. However, this does not keep them from wanting to absorb new lessons and skills presented to them.
My Project
With the mini iPad, my students will be able to have access to the latest technology. It will provide them with the opportunity to increase reading fluency, take quizzes through the AR program, assist them with story comprehension and better prepare them for the second grade. The cover will protect the iPad from damaging it as they manipulate it. It will allow them the resources they would otherwise not have or have had.

My students, as each child does, deserve every chance at modern technology with no limits to enhance learning. You will make learning fun and exciting for these children that have had very few chances of manipulating such devices
