This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Do you recall how you felt the first time you tried one of the latest technology devices as an adult? A bit nervous, maybe? I'd like to ease this kind of feeling for my students.
My first grade students attend a Title 1 school.
They live in a neighborhood stricken by a high level of poverty. Most of them qualify for the free or reduced lunch program. However, they are so innocent and very typical six and seven year olds. They are so ready each morning to absorb new experiences. They make me love them and my job even more each day.
My Project
The selected mini iPad will be used to enhance lessons not only in Reading, but in Math, Science and Social Studies. The covers will protect the iPad when the children manipulate it. The many available apps will be utilized to support all subject areas. In addition, the mini iPad will make learning all of these topics fun experiences. It will also help my students to be better prepared with technology that they have little or no experience with.
I'd like to thank you in advance for your kindness in contributing to this project because you will afford my students with opportunities they have little or no access to.
My students, as all children do, deserve every chance at modern technology with no limits to enhance their learning. You will make learning fun and exciting for these children that have had very few chances of manipulating such devices.
