Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The items listed for this project are essential for students in our school to be provided with a mindfulness space as part of my counseling office. I began my career in school counseling last year and as I look forward to enhancing student experiences this year, our district budget cuts have me split between two schools meaning I need double the supplies.
This space will be used to support students in practicing self-awareness and learning strategies to cope with the challenges of daily life.
Outside our school walls, my students are faced with extremely traumatic situations. For many, this is the only safe space them can come to feel loved and a sense of peace that we all need to calm our minds.
