My Project
The purpose of this project is to create a quiet, calming, and relaxing space to take a mental health break and focus on the positive things around us. This room will contain comfortable seating, relaxing activities, calm lighting, and motivational words to help everyone deal with the stresses of life in a more positive way.
Our society is seeing a huge increase in mental health concerns, so I'd like to create a space for everyone to take just a few minutes to relax, unwind, and feel calm.
Research has shown that taking a short mental break can help clear your mind and thus, be able to focus better on future tasks. This break can include playing a quick game of darts, or tic tac toe. It might be sitting down on a comfortable chair by an olive tree and creating a design in a zen garden, all while taking in the aromas of essential oils. Or maybe a few minutes of coloring an intricate picture while reading the motivational words in the room can help alleviate any worries and anxiety. By providing a safe place to take care of themselves, I believe we will see a positive shift in the health and well-being of everyone.
