Help me give my students amazing mindfulness and stress reducing materials to help enhance their learning! These materials will help my students build a stronger community, manage stress, and learn strategies to help them maximize their potential!
My students are creative, clever and eager to learn. They come to class every day excited to actively engage in 4th grade content. From math to science to language arts, they are always putting in their best effort.
From the minute they walk in the door of my classroom I focus on their potential and growth while they are with me.
By doing this in a creative and positive way, I am hoping​ to inspire each and every one of our learners to continue on a path of academic excellence.
My Project
I have a classroom full of wonderfully creative and incredibly enthusiastic learners this (and every) year. These materials are needed to ensure students are equipped with skills needed to lower stress and anxiety and to increase focus and a love of learning.
Mindfullness practices have been proven to increase a student's ability to thrive.
With these materials, I hope to strengthen each of my student's ability to focus and thrive in the classroom and beyond.
Many of these materials are gamed based activities to foster mindfulness, social skills, social-emotional development and community. I hope to introduce these activities to strengthen our classroom community and foster student confidence and independence while also helping them build empathy and the ability to work together as a team.
Furthermore, I hope to create a peace corner in my room where students can go when they need a quiet place to destress and calm down. Many of the sensory items included in this project will give students the tools and the space to take short breaks when needed to refocus their attention and energy.
