Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are lovable and friendly. They love to be at school! Just like any other student, they enjoy exploring the world around them and learning new things. I want to provide my students with more Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) activities and books to teach my students to generalize learned skills to real-life situations. We also need mindfulness tools such as tracing and coloring books, breathing stars and mindfulness exercise cards, a guided meditation breathing light for visual meditation, and calming activities that are positive and engaging but also promotes a passion for learning and life long skills they can use.
Of the students in my Kindergarten classroom, most are English Language Learners.
High poverty combined with language learning puts our students at an even higher risk of failure. My goals are to continue to encourage them to love school, to help them overcome challenges in their own way, and to continue to support their needs by providing them with the best education possible.
