Mindfulness Gardening to Celebrate Earth Day

Help me give my students equipment to best celebrate Earth Day - not only on one day, but throughout the rest of the year!

My Project

Our youngest learners have often heard about Earth Day and understand all the ways humans affect our planet, but they don't always get hands on experiences to help make our planet more green! We will learn more about Earth Day by reading books, growing plants to be used around our school, and to help promote Earth Day by designing buttons to pass around on Earth Day!

With this project, I hope to inspire children to be mindful of our Earth and be more proactive in maintaining it.

In addition, students have very rigorous days, so I am hoping that this project will bring calmness and creativity to an already busy day! We will grow plants from seed and watch them sprout into little seedlings. Once they are big enough, we hope to transport them into the tree beds in our school's courtyard, to share with all of our school!
