My Students
My students come from a wide variety of ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds. They are driven to become the best they can be, and want to go to college. My students have many challenges that they face on a daily basis. My students have disabilities that include ADHD, Anxiety, Trauma, Emotional Disturbances, Learning Disabilities, and Autism. My classroom is special because we bridge the achievement gap that is present in other schools and classrooms. We are proud of our work, and success.
My Project
This course will enable me to grow professionally and learn new skills to assist my students. The course will help students to overcome the unprecedented stress and pressure of today's increasingly demanding lifestyles.
This course is designed to advance my practice by fully preparing me to share and adapt mindfulness for kids and teens in practical and engaging ways.
The course will include nine modules of experimental mindfulness training, where I will learn strategies and techniques that will improve social-emotional resilience and executive function. The strategies will integrate mindfulness into the activities that kids and teens enjoy the most.
