My Project
Wangenheim is a Title 1 school with over 65% of students qualifying for Free/Reduced Lunch. We are an incredibly diverse school also with a high military population. Working at a Middle School, we are still seeing the impact of Covid and the increase in anxiety in our students.
Middle School can already be a really difficult transition and we are finding that we have more and more students who struggle with the process.
More and more students are living with high levels of anxiety and depression. While we teach strategies in our office, many of our students lack the tools needed to use these strategies outside of our office.
We are continually providing stress balls and fidget tools to our students to help them with their coping when stressed. We are looking to replenish our toolbox to be able to continue to provide the resources for students.
