I will be completing Breathe for Change’s 300-hour Transformative TEACHing and Leadership Training. After graduating from 200-hour yoga teacher training through Breathe for Change I have decided to pursue further learning to better impact my students, school, and community. Completing the 300-hour training will enhance my pedagogy, deepen my yoga knowledge, and strengthen my ability to catalyze positive change in my community. Through the training, I will become an expert of the Breathe For Change TEACH Method, which will equip me to teach in a trauma-informed, equitable, accessible community-based and healing-centered way. In addition to gaining yoga certification at the 500-hour level, I will also learn chair and restorative yoga, enabling me to teach in the most accessible ways for as many in my community as possible.
I have already seen what mindfulness and movement have done for the students in my classroom.
What students have said:
“I feel calm.”
“I need to do this (meditate) before tests.”
“I’ve never felt this relaxed at school before.”
“It’s like something just lifted off my shoulders.”
“This should be required for everyone. We all need this.”
I cannot wait to see what this training will allow me to do further in my community.
