Help me give my students flexible seating options and books that address social-emotional well being allowing them to focus on learning and modeling social-emotional skills necessary for their success in and out of school.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Covid-19 pushed learning and students into an online setting where many students did not receive social interaction with peers of their age creating deficits in social and emotional development. Flexible seating options allow students the seating of their choice as well as help with focusing on learning while receiving sensory input like movement and texture. Social-emotional wellbeing books allow teachers to introduce and discuss different emotions/feelings that many students will be learning for the first time alongside learning to identify those feelings and practice coping skills they will need for success in and out of the classroom.
