This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

A mindfulness corner in our classroom will be a dedicated space for students to practice self-regulation, focus, and emotional awareness.

Special needs students often experience being stressed and overwhelmed -and need accessibility to mindfulness items to help them appropriately manage their feelings, and support them during crisis.

This corner will offer calming mindfulness activities to help students develop resilience and improve their concentration.

By fostering a culture of mindfulness.

How will these items help my students?:

Bean Bag Chairs- Encourage stillness, Body awareness and Relaxation

Memory Games:-Focus Concentration, Stress reduction

Jelly Fish Lamps- Stress reduction, focus

Table Water Fountain- Gentle calming sounds/Visual focus

Breathing Bear- Visual Zen/Relaxation/Anxiety

Adult Coloring Books Super Set- Mind body concentration
