My second graders are a fabulous bunch of kiddos. They come ready to learn each and every day. They are energetic, creative, and so much fun to teach.
Our school was established six years ago.
My students come from a variety of socio-economic backgrounds, as well as, different ethnic backgrounds.
They are one big, happy family excited to learn, evolve into lifelong learners, and to be the best that they can be. They are hard workers who enjoy creative, hands-on learning and truly are the “doers” of this generation.
My Project
Learning in the present day is challenging enough. To try and supply every child with manipulatives that he/she could take home to learn is just as challenging.
The use of hands on STEM and math manipulatives would aid in bridging the gap of learning at home and school.
To be able to send hands on items to tinker and learn with would be beneficial for all of my kiddos. The kids would have an endless opportuinty of learning and creating objects that could take hours and or minutes, depending on their personal level and intrinsic motivation. They would have to opportunity to learn, test, relearn over and over again.
More than a third of students from low‑income households
