My Students

The students in our room are enrolled at an elementary school in Reno, Nevada. The culture of our school is special, and students maintain a high level of academic achievement, gain ample opportunities to work with the arts and have built a pretty amazing culture over the last 50 years.

In our room, students work hard and strive to be on a path to college, career and civic readiness.

All students enjoy working with challenging and complex materials that ensure academic and social success.

My Project

The students I've worked with have been exposed to a number of seating options. We have Hokki Stools, Flexispots and standing tables. Students, however, choose not to use our kneeling table, because not all students are able to make the experience as comfortable as it should be.

The floor pillows in this project would solve any concerns about being on the floor and ensure that flexible seating is fully integrated.

The research is clear. Students need seating options to increase engagement and academic performance. This project would allow for this outcome and create a 21st Century learning space for the children.
