Help me give my students a snack so that they can focus on their education. Also, we will use the nutrition facts label on each item for a unit on making mindful food choices.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We appreciate you considering our project. We need snacks to sustain us physically and mentally during our school day. While we are enjoying the snacks, we will be noting the nutrition facts, comparing and contrasting food items, and participating in mindful math activities related to our food items. This unit will also have supporting curriculum from MyPlate.gov. By learning portion size, how to plan a balanced meal, and determining unit rates to aid buying decisions, we can become better consumers while learning life skills. Thank you for reading.
