My students need the wobble chairs to help with focusing during independent work and instruction. The tablets will serve as a listening center for reading as my school library doesn't have books on tape or CD.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I currently teach in a Title 1 school located in a low socioeconomic area of Orlando, Florida. 100 percent of students receive free lunch and over 80 percent are English as a Second language learners. I currently have students from over ten different countries. Many are coming to this country after having traumatic experiences in their home country and are living with family members other than their parents. Regardless of these circumstances, my students are hardworking and eager to learn. School is a safe place for them.
My Project
These materials will completely enhance my classroom instruction and student results. It will allow me to finally have a listening and technology center so my students can work on building reading fluency. It will also help increase their exposure to technology in order to better prepare them for the computer based state assessments.
The wobble chairs will especially help some of my students who struggle with conditions that cause constant movement.
They will be better able to complete independent work and writing tasks at their seat while still having the ability to wiggle, fidget, rock as well as move around.
