My Students

More than half of our students come from low income or immigrant parent homes. What is special about our school is that we are a community school. Community Schools are created to help bring and share resources to our school community to help our families with any challenges they may face. Families can access social services, and communities congregate to share resources and address their common challenges. Community Schools recognize the barriers that our families face and assist in the process of helping all students achieve success both in and out of the classroom. The students who make up our school are a diverse group of children who each hold unique characteristics and individualized needs. Our students are not only diverse in age, but they come from many different backgrounds and speak several different languages.

Many of our students are coming to school to engage in hybrid learning due to Covid-19, half of their learning will be in person and half online.

My Project

Having the ability to display and explain how to achieve a goal will uncover alternative ways for students to express their thoughts and feelings. The document reader will allow students to follow texts while stories are being read aloud which will help them corollate words and sounds. This will allow students to gain the fundamental skills to acquiring language acquisition.

The document reader is a great resource that will allow me to read and write along with my students.

Document camera's allow students the ability to follow along in the textbook or novel when your students are reading out loud, to display a handout, or to inspect a chart, map, or graph as a whole class activity. As for my younger students, the camera can will give me the ability to make story time come alive with the illustration throughout the story. Education should be made memorable and with this tool I will be able to make each lesson exciting, giving my students the opportunity to learn all they are capable of.
