Miles Math Club

Help me give my students snacks, games, t-shirts, and other materials for a chance to improve their Math skills while having fun learning new Math concepts.

My Project

Our Math Club will give academic support to individuals needing additional instruction outside the classroom. The Math Club will consist of 7th and 8th graders tutoring primary-grade students at exactly their level of understanding. Tutoring will occur in small groups or one-on-one sessions.

Often students do not want to be called out in class because they are embarrassed about their level of understanding.

The Math Club will create a safe and comfortable learning environment for the students to learn. Our goal is to increase math proficiency and have fun with games while learning new math concepts. This project is intended to support the following three goals for my students:

-Becoming mathematical problem solvers

-Communicating mathematically

-Making mathematical connections

Each of these goals supports the idea that mathematics provides a systematic way to represent relationships and analyze the change in our world.
