This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our cross country team is full of heart, hustle, and determination, but we lack the basic materials needed to host a high-quality meet that matches the standard set by other 3A schools in our league.
Right now, our team does everything by hand: from setting up the course ourselves to manually timing each race.
We don’t have the equipment that many other schools take for granted — things like flags and cones to clearly mark the course, a visible finish line structure, or a timing system that ensures fairness and accuracy for every runner.
Hosting a professional, well-organized meet isn’t just about appearances , it’s about safety, clarity, and giving student-athletes the experience they deserve. A well-marked course prevents confusion and injury. Accurate timing honors each runner’s effort. And a visually clear start and finish line brings pride to our school and excitement to athletes, coaches, and spectators.
