My students need STEM based kits to expand their minds through hands on, exploratory play. These kits incorporate literature as well as science and technology.

My Students
My amazing Kindergarten kids never fail to amaze me. They are full of imagination and exciting ideas. I want my students to be able to problem solve, build, and create without interference from me.
My school is in a high poverty, low income, inner city neighborhood.
But that doesn't stop my Kindergarten class! Just check out our feature in the newspaper! http://www.philly.com/philly/education/Teaching_hope.html
Our school is really a community. The teachers, parents, and students work with each other to achieve the greatest successes.
My Project
My students will be using the materials to explore STEM concepts. So often, science education ends up on the back burner. There is always such a strong emphasis on literacy (which I support), but it would be great to incorporate both. These fairy tale STEM kits allow students to connect to literature in a literal way. We always write journal entries like "How would you make a house the wolf couldn't blow down"? It would be amazing to put our theories to the test!
This project would make a difference to my class because students will be exposed to concepts that they haven't yet had the chance to experience.
These donations will expand their minds and make them critical thinkers.
