My Students

The Mighty Mustard Seeds will sprout and grow into mighty writers with might mentor texts!

They are called the MIGHTY Mustard Seeds.

They are a diverse group of students, who are eager to work together and grow together. They are excited and motivated to see personal growth in themselves and in each other. They also want to see communal growth as a class. One area in which many of them struggle in is in writing. Although they have creative and imaginative ideas, most of them have a hard time using these ideas to enhance their writing.

My Project

My students will read books from prominent children's author, Robert Munsch, and use his books as mentor texts to encourage them to write and enjoy writing. Robert Munsch is a famous children's author who is known for his story-telling abilities. Many, if not all of his books are entertaining and include various writing elements that serves as a model or mentor for creative writing.

Using Robert Munsch's text will increase student interest and engagement in writing.

Also, it will prompt students to think of creative and imaginative ideas and concepts for writing narratives. Learning from these mentor texts will make writing a fun learning experience!
