My Students
The Mighty Mustard Seeds are Mighty Mathematicians!
My students are called the MIGHTY Mustard Seeds.
They are a diverse group of students, who are eager to work together and grow together. They are excited and motivated to see personal growth in themselves and in each other and communal growth as a class. One goal that challenges them, and in which they are eager to reach, is building strong number sense through mathematical word problems.
My Project
The professional texts and document camera will help me teach and model mathematical problems explicitly, accurately, and clearly. The professional text, "Number Talks" and "It Makes Sense!" will help create a safe and learning environment for meaningful conversations in Math. The document camera will be helpful in projecting mathematical manipulatives and worksheets on our board to make learning interactive.
These tools will help me guide and scaffold my students in understanding big concepts in Math and in other subject areas.
These tools will also help my students build confidence in themselves as growing mathematicians!
