Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am so excited to expand my realm of impact to the entire school! I just recently moved into a STEM teaching position after 7 years of teaching middle school science! I can’t say I have a favorite grade level, so teaching sixth, seventh, and eighth grade is like a dream come true!!! I’m currently working on revising the curriculum so that every year I work with our students, they are doing something different and more challenging. I hope to inspire these young minds to pursue STEM-related career paths.

6th grade will being by exploring the world of coding.

I requested Botley the coding robot, as this will be a phenomenal tool to help them understand and practically apply human use of technology.

7th grade will expand their knowledge by practically applying Newton's laws to create their own Rube Goldberg machines. If our project is funded, they will be able to play to learn with magnets and snap circuits.

8th grade will expand their knowledge of Newton's laws even further. If we are funded, the robots I requested will allow them to explore Newton's law in technology, as well as simple machines like wheels, axles, and inclined planes.
