This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come to school every day excited to learn! My school is a Title I school with 92.9% of students coming from low-income families. There is a high percentage of Latino students at my school. I teach students who are learning English as a Second Language.

My students may come from low-income homes, but they are motivated to do well in school and they enjoy learning!

I'm the special education case manager at my school, and I also have a caseload of 6th and 7th-grade students with disabilities. My students have various disabilities including intellectual disabilities, autism, emotional disturbance, ADHD, other health impairments, visual impairments, and learning disabilities.

My Project

My middle school students need basic feminine items to keep in our school's Wolf Den for access as needed. My students need hair ties, combs, and gel to use as needed.

Many of my students don't have the ability or means to have their families purchase these items; they rely on the school.

My students need feminine products such as pads to keep at school as needed. My students need to know that there's a safe place they can go to get these items that they might not have access to at home.
