This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a middle school counselor for students in grades 6th, 7th, and 8th. Middle school is such an interesting time because there are so many changes both socially and physically. The dreaded puberty and hormones hit at this time and this creates some awkward moments. Some of these awkward moments happen when my students are unable to take care of their hygiene. When this happens they get so self conscious it is hard for them to focus in class. When they get super self conscious they will even hide from their peers or pretend to be sick to avoid being embarrassed in front of their peers. Feeling clean and comfortable is a huge part of feeling safe in school for all students. Help me provide my students with a hygiene cart full of products they can use to stay clean, well groomed , and comfortable through the day.

Puberty stinks (both literally and figuratively) so keeping a cart of hygiene essentials for students is very important.

This cart will provide all my students with hygiene products they need to ensure that they are clean and well-groomed. It will benefit all students but it will also be a huge help to some of our most vulnerable students. The students who do not have stable living environments or who do not have access to hygiene products at home will be able to take care of themselves and focus on what matters in school.
