Middle School Millionaire

My 5th grade students need 40 small dry erase boards, 48 dry erase markers, and 40 erasers to play Middle School Millionaire to teach them about going to middle school.

I am an elementary guidance counselor in Nevada. I am responsible for helping fifth grade students transition smoothly into 6th grade. The area my school is located in has a lot of drug related issues, the incidence of low income families who cannot provide for their families is high. Our school wide initiative program is character education.

Unfortunately, we are facing budget cuts that are cutting into any teacher's ability to buy adequate supplies. My 5th grade students show great enthusiasm about being prepared for middle school. They ask me questions every day! They want to know EVERYTHING there is!

My solution is to make as many informational games that I can to educate them as much as possible of the expectations and changes that lie ahead in middle school. Kids learn while having fun and retain more of the information it seems while playing Middle School Millionaire. Students will receive a trivia question regarding middle school and then be asked to write their answers on the white board. By using the white boards, I can see who is mastering the ideas and who I may need to speak with individually so I know they are understanding the information- because there is a lot to understand when it comes to middle school!

Your donation will allow me to be able to reach a whole class to educate them and make lasting memories while having fun! Middle School Millionaire will also allow me to find out who needs more explanation so I can truly leave no child behind because all children deserve the same chance to be successful!
