This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Each quarter I have the privilege of teaching 150 6th, 7th and 8th-grade students. Our students come from a low-income/high poverty school district, right next to Chicago. Even with our situation, our students (and staff) make the most of every opportunity we can. This year we are starting 3 brand new Project Lead the Way classes. We are going to be creating a lot of wonderful projects with limited resources.

My students are incredibly creative, lively, and fun to teach!

We're ready to introduce the following PLTW classes: Design & Modeling; Energy & the Environment; Flight & Space. My students are a blast to teach every day, and we are always looking for new/better ideas to add to our growing curriculum.

My Project

We are just beginning to offer PLTW (Project Lead the Way) classes in our middle school this year! With the addition of a NEW 3D Printer, our students will have another tool to express their creativity. I’m really excited to see all the amazing things our students accomplish with 3D modeling and printing.

Our new 3D printer will give our students another tool to showcase their ever growing skills.

My students will be able to bring many virtual creations to life, leading to increased engagement, technological skill, and good 'ol school pride! Each of the past 2 years our school has hosted a STEAM Fair. I can't wait to see the smiles on their faces when the community gets to see what my students created!
