This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach math using money. Kids understand money and want to, "get rich!"

I would like to use their natural curiosity about money to capitalize on understanding 6th grade math concepts as well as being able to apply their learning to finance literacy.

I'm hoping that having a teacher's guide on financial literacy, a workbook that I can photocopy that gives examples of how to save and spend your money wisely is going to help the students in my community. They have the drive to earn money! Since we do fundraising events all year in 6th grade, having more tools to support their ambition only works to their benefit.

We also got bags for their chairs since they need storage to keep all their math and finance materials.
