My Project
We recently purchased a book vending machine for our middle school students (grades 5-8) and now we need to fill it with age-appropriate books. Tokens are given out in conjunction with our PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) team.
Unlike library books, students will be able to keep these books as their own and take them home.
Students earn tokens from teachers, the guidance counselor, and other staff members to use in the machine to select books. Our plan is to reward tokens to reinforce positive behaviors across the board, to promote an equitable environment and to support social and emotional health. It is our sincere wish to improve behavioral shifts, attendance, participation and random acts of kindness with the book machine.
