This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach a self-contained, special education class and my students have a variety of disabilities. My school is a high needs school and my students deserve every opportunity available to help them succeed in anything they would want to accomplish. I am lucky enough to help them do this and be a part of their lives this year as we become a little "family".

They need to learn throughout different modalities because of their disabilities.

I want to make learning fun, exciting, enjoyable and memorable for them. My challenge will be getting them to their grade level when many are behind. My scholars are very special children.

They all have different obstacles in their way, but come to school every day ready to learn. At times, they need constant praise and encouragement to get them back on track. It is a high needs school where many kids are at a disadvantage.

My Project

As we come upon the middle of the school year we are needing a refresher of supplies to keep the learning going . We are focused on vocabulary and always note words that are of interest or just can not figure out across the curriculum. The dictionaries will help look up the word, practice our ABC order and learn new words. The multi colored pens will help us revise and edit our writing before we publish it. Dry erase markers and erasers are used on a daily basis when we do our math sprints, number talk and to figure out our math. We use pencils on a daily basis to do work across the curriculum. They are always disappearing or are given out to do their homework with. It is something that I give out and replace on a daily basis.
