My Students

This year, I will be teaching twenty-three fourth graders, some of whom are meeting for the first time. Our school is taking part in a unique school pairing model, and on our campus we will only have grades 3-5. Some of the students will be new to me as well, and others who are former students of mine.

Regardless of if they are new to one another or not, I look forward to the classroom community that will be built and the learning that will take place.

My Project

It's that time of year where my several hundred piece pencil stash has been depleted, and basic supplies are running low. Whether it's lost materials, new students, or materials that have been used up, we are in need of composition notebooks, pencils, erasers, pens and ear buds. We use pens to help with partner editing in writing, notebooks for all subjects and earbuds to use individualized learning programs.

We also are diving heavily into a unit on prefixes, suffixes, etc, which isn't the most fun to learn.

Having the interactive notebook will make that process much more engaging! Kids will learn in a hands on way and will have a point of reference to go back to.
