This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students enjoy being able to explore and choose different art media in class. They like to draw, paint and create 3D artwork. I would like to create a digital art media option as an enrichment club and then after I have enough tools and devices I will create a digital media center for interested students to use in our daily classes. I have noticed an increase in students that want to explore digital art media as a result from working on digital art projects during remote learning. My students are naturally curious about using the digital drawing apps and drawing with a stylus.
Many students already have a begginer to intermediate level of digital drawing skills that have been developed purely out of their enjoyment of and intrest in drawing.
I would like to give them the opportunity to further develop their digital drawing skills as they learn about Adobe Creative Cloud Apps as well as Procreate.
We currently have a fantastic 9th grade student who is a digital artist and has his own personal iPad and pencil. Many of his peers are so excited to see his work and want to try it themselves! I plan to use the Microsoft Surface Pro tablet and stylus with my advanced students that want to mix the Adobe Creative Cloud Apps with the ability to draw with a stylus directly on the tablet surface. I'm very interested and excited to be a part of creating a 21st century art room for our students.
