Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are a wonderful group of third graders. They come to school ready and eager to learn; however, we are Title I school and have a high population of low income families, some of whom are living at or near the poverty level. Because our families are on very limited budgets, some students don't have backpacks to hold their school supplies. Yet, our families love and care very much for their children and want the best education for them. Our students deserve to have every opportunity to be academically successful.
My Project
My third grade students need new microscopes. Our district does not provide us with new scientific tools like microscopes. However, my students work on science experiments and projects. They need to have updated equipment in order for them to appreciate the wonders of the microscopic world. My students would be able to view blood cells, animals cells, and so much more. My students can’t tell the difference from a telescope or microscope. But by the end of the year, they have viewed many cells and used data books to collect their observations. Please help my class become scientists and 21st-century learners.
