Microscopes: Small Things Make A Big Impact

Help me give my students the power to visit the microscopic world of microorganisms! These microscopes will allow my students to have a hands-on opportunity to see real live microorganisms, including cells!

FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Carrizales's classroom raised $604

My Project

My 6th grade students study the Microbiome as part of our Science curriculum. Many people aren't aware that we have 100 trillion microorganisms on and in the human body. We often don't think of them, because we can't see them! I want to give my students the opportunity to view microorganisms up close and personal through these microscopes. Seeing pictures online and reading about microorganisms can be interesting, but preparing your own slides and viewing real life plant and animal cells is an experience that students will never forget. The best part of science is the part where students get to experiment and explore.

I want every student to see themselves as real scientists.

There is no better way to do that then to use real scientific tools like microscopes, and prepare slides like real researchers. I want to spark the intrest and passion for science in all students. I hope to show them that even the smallest forms of life can have a BIG impact. These microscopes will help me do just that.
