Microscope Accessories for Science Lunch Bunch Groups
Help me give my students a hands-on opportunity to explore the microscopes that intrigue them so much in our classroom; kids gravitate to them when they arrive for class but we don’t have any of the necessary accessories.

My Project
This is my first year teaching science and I’ve noticed that students are always poking around and peering through the microscopes that sit on our back shelf, but we are lacking the necessary accessories for meaningful work with them. I’m always looking for ways to get my students excited about science, ways to build relationships with my students, and ways to break the language barriers with my ELL students, so I’ve started hosting science lunches with small groups of students where they come to my room to eat while doing a science activity. I think inviting students to participate in microscope explorations will captivate them, especially if they can make their own slides of their own cheek cells! I’m asking for some basic materials to get that up and running. Thank you for helping me get my 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students excited about science!
