My students need micropipettes and pipette tips for Biology and Biotechnology labs.

My Students

One of the most challenging topics in Biology is to understand microscopic topics. With all the amazing things happening at the cellular level, it is not always easy for students to grasp the concepts right away.

I teach at a public charter school in Utah with a math and science focus.

We have lots of students who love science. We try to offer as many science related electives as possible. Biotechnology is one of them. My students enjoy learning about the advances in technology that benefits research in Biotechnology.

My Project

I have requested micropipettes and pipette tips for my students to use in Biology and Biotechnology labs. Biotechnology class requires lots of hands-on activities where students can practice some lab techniques and learn to use certain tools. One of the tools that we need for gel electrophoresis and other DNA, RNA or enzyme related labs is micropipettes. I will also be able to use these micropipettes in Honors Biology and later in AP Biology classes.

I believe that the more students spend time with labs and hands-on activities, the more they can internalize the subject and learn better.

In addition to that, they can also gain some lab skills that they can use in their future careers. If I can get these micropipettes for my classes, my students will have another set of tools to practice their skills.
