Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Elementary school can be one of the most difficult times for a student. A student at this academic level is expected to develop and mature socially as well as academically. This expectation can be especially difficult when a child is struggling greatly with basic reading and computation skills.
I teach an ICT class of diverse 5th grade learners.
My students exhibit struggles with their core academic areas, with some struggling in math and most struggling in reading. In addition there is also a large population of students in the class that are English language learners who exhibit extreme language arts deficiencies. Despite their learning struggles and limited resources my student's enjoy learning and exhibit great efforts in the classroom. As a special education teacher I want to be able to provide my students with the maximum level of support and intervention to help them reach their academic goals.
My Project
Our class needs a classroom microphone! A classroom microphone will support the learning and interaction of all of the students in our class. As remote learning and teaching continues it is important that all of our students are able to interact with each other during lessons whether they are at home or in person at school during class discussions or during question and response sections. A classroom microphone will allow all the students to hear each other during our live stream class sessions and support their interactions with each other.
