Mice for Little Learners

My Students

My students are from a small community in Northern California. They are amazing kids from working-class families. Like most kids in second grade, they love school. They are motivated, driven, and are eager to succeed.

My students work so hard.

We are a close community with lots of family involvement. I have 25 students, and as the year progresses, it is amazing to see them come together and support and motivate each other. As a teacher, I strive to meet my students where they are academically and support and encourage diversity present in our school.

My Project

More and more, we are required to use technology in the classroom. Some students do just fine without a mouse, but others get frustrated by the touch pad.

Having a mouse to use for tasks that require dragging and dropping would really be helpful to my students!

We use our Chromebooks every day in 2nd grade. We used them for research, to learn coding, and we also use them to practice skills in math, language and reading. Many of these activities are drag and drop activities which can be frustrating to young learners who do not quite have the motor skill for this. Please help me provide mice to keep them from becoming frustrated while using technology!
