My Students
As a veteran teacher at a Title I school located in a low-income/high-poverty community, I am well aware of the many challenges that my students face every day, both in and outside of the classroom. I am also aware of their enthusiasm for learning, their tremendous potential for high achievement, and their brilliant creativity.
My students shine brightest when they work creatively and collaboratively.
They demonstrate great pride in their work, celebrating their growth and improvement while challenging themselves and each other to exceed expectations.
My Project
My amazing students have finally returned to in-person learning after more than a year of virtual instruction. In the short time we have been together this year they have expressed strong interest and enthusiasm for expanding our songwriting, spoken word, and community podcast programs, and reestablishing our popular school news service.
This project will provide two new USB microphones that we can use to include more students in our various creative projects while creating more content for our greater school community to enjoy.
The Blue Yeti microphones connect to computers or tablets with USB cables, which means we can use it to record from anywhere in our school or around our community. So not only will we be able to create an exciting classroom filled with media work spaces, but we will also be equipped with resources that will help students explore their community and document their meaningful experiences. We will be extremely grateful to our donors for helping us acquire these new audio tools!
