My Project
This project will provide all students in our band program with their own method book. The use of instrumental method books is a must for the 50+ students in the band program. They support young musicians in their practice sessions by providing them with fun material to play and exercises to grow their skills. The books also empower me to give clear weekly assignments. I currently don’t have enough method books and rely on photocopies or printouts, which get lost. Students are much more motivated by having their own book to practice from. Also, the method books give students the opportunity to annotate their music, which is an important skill.
By donating to this project, you will directly impact the musical growth and achievement of my school's 4th and 5th grade beginner instrumentalists.
A majority of our students are unable to afford the extra resources that are needed to be successful in band. Our school was very fortunate to receive a grant for some new instruments last spring. If we receive these method books, student achievement will soar.
