This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am requesting engaging mentor texts for writing opinion and informational text. My students are really struggling with writing. They could use some great examples of fictional narrative texts.
Most of my students are also struggling readers and writers who are not easily engaged in reading and writing books.
These books will be the perfect addition to our unit on opinion writing.
Having most of these books in hardcover will ensure that they will last even longer in our classroom. I hope to be able to use these books year after year and thus improve the writing of hundreds of students.
