My Project

Many students face mental health challenges that impact their ability to learn, succeed, and achieve in school. My project aims to provide avenues to improve mental health of my students in a wide breadth of varieties that aren't currently offered at my school. Every year I have the same students. No they aren't being held back, they're the same type of students. There's the physical student who needs to move around and exercise to calm down. There's the crafty student who needs something small to fiddle and create with their hands to occupy their dexterous fingers. There's the artistic student, particularly fashion based, that can't stop drifting off and focusing on the artsy clothes they'd like to create.

Support emotional wellness by encouraging anciallary interests.

This project will benefit the class by creating a supportive environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and physical activity often being supressed in the speed of highschool academics. By normalizing and providing avenues of ancillary growth in dexterity and strength, we help reduce the stress and taxation on students' mental bandwidth, to improve students' mental well being, to influence their academic success, but more importantly, their overall happiness.
