Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students need to make meaningful connections outside of academics and technology. Kids need to have fun and spend quality time engaging in common interests.
These supplies will allow students to find commonalities among each other, have fun, and feel a sense of belonging.
Our students do not have recess and do not have a choice in the day-to-day schedule. My students love their fidgets and why not let them make their own slime. These supplies will give kids an outlet to express themselves and decompress from the day-to-day stressors. Our kids deserve materials that are as amazing and special as they are.
Students will use the Polaroid camera to document field work and document memories they are making in class. Students will no longer rely on screens to share meaningful learning experiences but have a printed copy of their shared memories.
My students often request breaks and each classroom has a calm corner. In addition to drawing or writing, kids can choose to simply hug or play with one of the lavender plushies to take a mental break.
