I teach CLS students who are in high school with intellectual disabilities. We will use the feelings books and toys to help understand why we feel the way we do. The fidgets and snacks help to calm us when we are anxious.
We would love to have more flexible seating options to calm our bodies and nerves.
Often we are stuck at desks, which can be very difficult for us to move away and calm down. It is important that we have options for our students and how they handle stress.
