This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are resilient, creative, and full of untapped potential. They come to school every day carrying not just backpacks but life experiences that are often heavy and complex. What I admire most is their ability to show up—despite the challenges they face—and their willingness to grow, heal, and connect when given the right tools and a safe space.

How These Resources Will Help:

The supplies I’m requesting will help bring mental health conversations to life in engaging, culturally relevant, and trauma-informed ways. From fidget tools that help students regulate their emotions to visual aids and journals that encourage self-reflection, every item will be used to create a welcoming and supportive environment. These tools will allow me to host group sessions, healing circles, and one-on-one check-ins that invite students to talk openly about their thoughts, feelings, and experiences.

Mental health can be a tough topic for students, especially in communities where it’s often stigmatized or misunderstood. These resources will help break down those barriers by making social-emotional learning more interactive, accessible, and empowering. Your support means students will not only feel seen and heard, but also better equipped to care for their own mental and emotional well-being.
