My Students

My students are those served by mental health within our district. I serve students in 3rd - 5th grade. The students live within our rural community and most are on free or reduced lunch. Their gender, ethnicity, and socioeconomic status vary, but they are all diagnosed with some mental illness that requires service within the school day.

My Project

Currently, I do not have a wide variety of books in my office to use with my students or parents. I would like to add to this collection so that I can share them when I meet with students. Some books will be picture books that I read with my students when I serve them or when they are having a hard time. Other books will be books I lend to my parents to help them continue the practices we are using at school within their home. There are also several books that I will use professionally to share with my colleagues of how to handle difficult students.
