Being a teenager is challenging! Most teens have difficulty with the transition to being a more independent human. I see that many youth do not have the skills to cope when things get tough. Most reach for their phone which has been proven to increase anxiety and depression in teens. This year, our school is taking the bold step to reduce cell phone usage on campus by not allowing them most of the day.
Help me give my students a healthy alternative to scrolling aimlessly through their phones.
Journaling is an amazing tool to help alleviate stress and reflect on different aspects of one's life. Coloring intricate patterns can increase focus on the present and reduce anxiety about past and future events. Stress balls are a great physical outlet as well.
Creating new positive habits can improve mental health, physical health, and overall well-being which can lead to greater achievement in school!
