Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The title of my project is: Capturing Memories, Enhancing Learning. As an educator, I'm privileged to work with an exceptional group of students who brighten my day with their curiosity, creativity, and resilience. My students come from diverse backgrounds, and many face economic challenges that limit their access to resources. Despite these obstacles, they remain eager to learn and grow.

Photography is an incredible tool for storytelling, self-expression, and documentation.

By incorporating this camera into our classroom, we'll unlock new opportunities for learning and connection. The camera will enable students to record special moments, achievements, and events, creating a sense of pride and accomplishment. Images will be use to illustrate writing assignments, presentations, and projects, developing essential communication skills. Experimenting with photography techniques, encourages artistic expression and critical thinking. Sharing photos with families, promotes a sense of belonging and connection.

For many of my students, professional photography services are a luxury their families cannot afford. By having a camera in the classroom, we'll provide a vital service:

1. Share photos with families, keeping them informed and involved in their child's education.

2. Create lasting memories for students and their families, regardless of economic circumstances.

3. Ensure all students feel seen and valued, regardless of their background.
